The Pomeroy Fire Company is dedicated to serve YOU the members of the community. The following is a brief listing on some ways to help prevent a fire in and around your home. REMEMBER - IN THE EVENT YOU HAVE A FIRE OR SEE FIRE CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY!
- Always remain in the kitchen while cooking.
- Do not place dish towels, paper towels, other items that can catch
on fire on stovetops.
- Never leave BBQ grills, Turkey Fryers, Steamers or Tiki Torches
left unattended.
- Always keep BBQ grills, Turkey Fryers, Steamers or Tiki Torches
away at least 10 feet away from house/garage, bushes or trees.
- Store matches and lighters out of reach of children.
- Have your chimney and fireplace cleaned annually.
- Never leave lit candles unattended.
- Clean your dryer vent and lint trap.
- Never leave a self-cleaning oven on unattended.
- Be sure to extinguish all cigarettes.
