On Saturday February 6th, 2010 into Sunday February 7th, 2010 the Pomeroy Fire Company provided staffing during the overnight hours for Fire and EMS. The personnel took time from their families and friends to provide the citizens of our coverage areas with quick response times and units capable of responding in the inclement weather. Mother Nature dumped 18 plus inches in our area making responding to emergencies difficult. Crews worked throughout the night removing snow from the ramp and making sure the exits were snow free.

Crews spent the evening discussing the good “ole days” and the recent events around the station. Crews cooked dinner and enjoyed the gathering of one another’s company.

Ambulance 29-1 and Brush 29 had a medical emergency throughout the storm and responded with a staffed unit of volunteers.

Again on Wednesday February 10th, 2010 into Thursday February 11th, 2010 when a record snow fall hit us again of over 24 inches the Pomeroy Fire Company provided volunteer staffing to the community. Crews slept over night at the station to provide adequate staffing for the Ambulances and Fire Units. Throughout the snow storm Ambulance 29-1 had one emergency and Brush 29 had two. Crews remained staffed into Thursday afternoon providing coverage to the community as the road crews and Penn-Dot worked to clear the roadways around the Township.

Special Thanks to Bill Bradford for keeping our Fire Company snow free and accessible to the community and our members during both storms including the “Blizzard”. Without your assistance more work would have had to be completed.

Special Thanks to Prekup Excavating for assisting the Company as well by using a loader to remove the snow piled up from the first snow fall to ensure parking and space around our station.

The Officers of the company would like to thank the crews for taking time away from their families and dedicating it to the citizens of our area.
