On Monday evening January 25th, 2010 the Pomeroy Fire Company and Sadsbury Fire Company members came together for their Annual SCBA Training. The night started off with Fire Captain Jared Dalmas putting on a presentation on SCBA. Dalmas went through the SCBA from start to finish illustrating the changes from the past to the present SCBA and the components of the SCBA.

 
Members went over the SCBA that both companies utilize. Although both companies operate the same make the models were different due to years of purchase of the SCBA. Members got the understanding of the equipment in case we had to use one another’s equipment and/or got in a situation were the buddy breather system would have to be utilized.
 
The presentation went over the following:
 
Review of SCOTT SCBA
The new features such as Heads-Up display
Cleaning-Donning-Maintenance of the SCBA
The buddy breather system and usage
Pass Devices
The parts and components of the SCBA
 
The presentation ended around 2030 hours and crews remained on-station to catch up on one another’s plans for 2010 and to start the building gap of a better working relationship.
 
The night ended at 2100 hours and everyone was thanked for their participation. Special thanks to the Sadsbury Fire Company for coming down to train with us so we can provide the best possible coverage to Sadsbury Township.
